    Vintage Austria 100 Hundert Schilling Paper Banknote. 1945 P-118. Marked Vienna, May 29, 1945. Austrian National Bank. Number 1102. Number 09370.

    The schilling was abolished in the wake of Germany's annexation of Austria in 1938, when it was exchanged at a rate of two German reichsmarks to three schillings. The schilling was reintroduced in 1945 by the Allied Military after World War II.
    Condition is used and circulated. The paper has some creasing and discoloration normal with age and use.
    Measures approximately 6-1/4 x 3-1:4 inches.
    Obverse features front-facing laureate and veiled woman with a star on her forehead, representing the sciences. Coat of arms of Austria above value to the left. Reverse features the Academy of Sciences in Vienna. Symbols of the sciences in medallions in the four corners: philosophy in the top left (star and astral signs), theology in the top right (eye of providence), medicine in the bottom left (bowl of Hygieia), and law in the bottom right (scales of justice).
