Vintage Forged Kitchen Andirons; with Open Basket Top and Spit Hooks

Description

Rustic, forged, utilitarian steel andirons with open basket and meat spit hooks. The baskets would be used for stew or porridge: 7.5" diameter.  Three positions for the spit hooks. The column and the billets are forged into a single piece.  Scrolled log stops.
These might be 19th century French but I can't speak with certainty. Not appropriate for a formal drawing room, but perfect for the cabin hearth or colonial kitchen.
21" tall x 22" deep
They've been treated with stove black.
