Panasonic Lumix Vario 12-60mm f3.5-5.6 OIS Lens - For Repair - Focus Problems

Up for sale, a Panasonic Lumix 12-60mm lens in need of repair or firmware fix.  This lens came with a Lumix GH5S body that had been dropped on a corner.  While the lens shows no signs of damage, I have to guess that being dropped may have knocked something out of alignment with the lens group.  There are no rattles or loose pieces and the optics look perfect (and barrel near mint).  None the less, the focus has serious troubles as you increase the focal length.
At the wide end of the lens (12-20mm or so) it focuses normally and locks focus quickly.  At 40mm or so, it hunts and sort of wobbles back and forth and does not lock focus.  Ditto the longest end 60mm, focus hunts badly and never catches focus.
I think there is a slight possibility that the firmware is corrupted since there is no apparent damage or internal problems.  Perhaps wishful thinking.
An expert will have to diagnose and repair or it can be used for parts.  It does not work properly in its current state.  Includes rear cap and front shade, sorry no front cap.
