Up for sale is a large pair of antique 19th century Victorian figural gilt bronze and onyx fireplace andirons.
the pair is made of thick elaborately cast gilt bronze, are done with very ornate detailing
throughout
, and have acquired a lovely patina from age.
they have gorgeous claw footed legs with intricately cast finials.
each andiron features two cylindrical green onyx stone shafts wrapped with exquisite bronze snakes.
they have bronze covered cast iron wood rests with ornate finials and are hallmarked on the top of the legs.
they're in nice antique condition and each
measure 26 1/4 inches tall by 10 inches wide by 21 inches back to front.
there is some discoloration to the bronze and very slight edge chips to the onyx as to be expected from age.
