Description
This is a simple, all purpose shoulder bag, a reproduction of an original Konyak Naga tribal man’s bag (see picture), in which he would carry all manner of items used on a daily basis, for example, betel nut and lime mixture, tobacco, assorted implements and small tools, agricultural and food items, etc. Still in use today, these bags are now entirely hand woven of one hundred per cent acrylic, rather than of the wool traditionally used years ago. The design, as with all Naga textiles, is specific to one tribe only, in this case, the Konyak tribe. This black background bag is 15” across by 12” deep, with a 36” shoulder strap (18” to bag). It is lightweight and easy to carry, but can hold quite a lot. Other pieces are available and are very consistent with this one as pictured.
