original vintage TV print of the all time classic Laurel & Hardy
Hal Roach feature, THE DEVIL'S BROTHER. Costume comedy has our two
“heroes” Stanlio and Olllio becoming reluctant servants of the
robin hood like bandit Fra Diavolo in this free wheeling Hal Roach
adaptation of the Daniel Auber Operetta. Original Kodak print with +
Triangle edge code is missing the opening titles but has the
introductory forward. Print appears to be a 35 minute (or so) pseudo
cut down of the 90 minute feature with lots of Stan and Ollie
footage. Print has great contrast and audio along with some minor
lines and splices. Print projects well and has no vinegar smell.
Nice find for the Stan & Ollie film collector.
