    Description

This is a newly made Chakhesang Naga man’s body cloth, traditionally worn by men of that tribe only; such a design was distinctive and helped to identify one Naga tribe from another, made necessary by the headhunting culture of the Nagas. This particular design was common among the Chakhesang men as it is less elaborate than others might be, although it has green in its stripe in addition to the usual red, blue and white. Other designs would have shown special feats or status.
Entirely hand woven of fine acrylic fiber, this shawl is tightly woven and has the feel of soft cotton. It measures approximately 82” x 42”.It can provide great warmth through the winter as well as serving as a beautiful ornamental covering for any type of furniture.
One or two other pieces are available; the exact size, tightness of the weave and the design may vary slightly.
