Description
Gorgeous AND Extremely Rare Whiting Repousse Sterling Silver Louis XV Asparagus Tongs Pat. 1891 with No Monogram! This Antique Beauty weighs in at approximately 32 grams. Measurements which are approximate: approx. 5 1/4" long, prong portion approx. 1 3/4" wide, smooth portion approx. 1 5/16" wide. I've not touched the patina as I realize some of us feel it enhances its beauty, especially seeing as it's an antique. However, upon purchase, of course you may clean it if you wish to do so. I love the pointy tongs on one end and the contrast of a gentle curve on the other with an almost heart-shape cutout centered between two others. The pointy end also has a cut out which appears to be a spade. The two open ends curve in opposite directions, one outward, one inward. A gorgeous raised design outlines the length with no monogram at the rounded end. It was difficult to take a photo of the design next to the Sterling mark, but it appears to be a lion passant. It's also marked with Pat 1891. If you wish to purchase this item, please be advised that I do not accept returns.Thank you for viewing this item.
