Description

Vintage pre-owned used condition with age tarnish and soot stains from use. Log holders have light normal surface rust and blackening from soot and old age. Needs cleaning and polishing, or just use it as shown. Please read entire photo description and inspect enlarged photos for condition before purchase. These will be disassembled for shipping. Brass Andirons with cast iron log holder dogs. This is an old set signed on the underside of base iron, "THE HARVIN CO. NO. 1-R, NO1-L (right and left), and on the brass part underside is marked 1000 and the Harvin Foundry mark. They do not bear the Virginia Metalcrafters mark from what I can see, so likely predate the acquisition of Harvin by Virginia Metalcrafters. Beautiful solid dimensional brass banded ball top with paw feet, and mini ball shaped finials at the elbow curve of log dogs. Height top top of ball approx 17-3/4", width of each base at front is 10", length from front of stand to back log holder approx 20".  Give this set a hand-polish and it is ready to use for a fire or display on your hearth. Very heavy, high quality older set that will last a more than a lifetime. Made in USA.
