    Description

    MUSTANG Pedal Car Poster- 22" X 34"
8 years of AMF Models and Variations - For Reference and Historic Documentation
    In 1964 the
    Ford Motor Company
entered into an agreement to have
    AMF Wheel Goods Division
produce a steel pedal car replica of their popular new Ford Mustang.
In a sales promotion beginning in late1964, Ford sold over 100,000 units of the small steel child's pedal car through their dealer network. Following the end of the promotion, Ford allowed AMF to continue production of the pedal cars, continuing sales through the AMF distribution network.  AMF sold the car under it's own "Junior" Brand from 1966 to 1972 with numerous changes in components and finishes.
In 1972,  AMF ended production of the pedal cars, and sold the tooling to a company in Mexico. The cars made in Mexico used different components, and ultimately began finding their way back to the United States, confusing collectors and pedal car enthusiasts who might not realize the original cars are more valuable. Today, there are other imports also on the market, so the need has arisen for documentation to identify components and finishes of the original AMF Mustang line. Since the original AMF Mustangs are the highest in value, a method of identifying AMF originals is necessary.
This brilliant full-color poster is printed on high quality matte finish 12pt. stock. It is suitable for wall hanging in your shop, or mounting and framing for display at car shows and exhibits.  The poster shows car models from original AMF sales literature available only to toy industry buyers and customers - not the general public.  There were eight models including the dealer model sold only through Ford, with seven shown on the poster, listing chronological changes for each model. (
The 1969 and 1970 models were identical.) An original customer assembly instruction sheet for Model B-535 (1967) is reproduced at the bottom of the poster.
Now collectors can easily reference the poster to authenticate their particular model to assist in buying correct parts, identify modified cars, and differentiate AMF originals from other manufactured cars.
Note: Poster edges are blurred on the reduced-size sample print shown above to discourage copying.
