    Description

PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS MOTORCYCLE IS LOCATED IN LONDON, ENGLAND
Built by a somewhat eccentric British genius, this is the utterly unique 48 Cylinder "Tinker Toy" named after a World War 2 Flying Fortress airplane.
Simon Whitelock, the bikes builder, started creating multi cylinder ed motorcycles base on the Kawasaki 2 stroke Triple engines back in the mid 1980's. The 250 version of these engines were in abundance in the UK in the Mid 1980's when legislation changed and you could no longer ride a 250cc motorcycle with first passing your motorcycle test.
Simons first creation in 1988 was a 4 cylinder version of the famous "250 triple", from there he moved on to build a 9 cylinder 750cc bike using Three 250 engines to build a radial engine, a couple of Years later he built a 7 cylinder bike that became the most practical of his bikes to actually ride. Simon then built an inline 8 cylinder engine using the cylinders off a 250.
Meanwhile Allen Millyard appeared on the scene and started to build many 5 cylinder "Triples" followed by his stunning V8 Z1, Simons own 8 cylinder motor was shelved for a while as Allen went on to produce his amazing V12 based on 2 Z1300 motors. Not to be outdone, Simon set about creating the ultimate in multi cylinder ed engines for a motorcycle. The project was going to take nearly 2 Years to complete. He built 5 more of his 8 cylinder inline motors and then set about linking them all together, but how would he start it ? Well, initially he had a small 80cc "donkey engine" that would scream it's head off and then turn the motor over, this was later replaced with a 125cc engine that now had adequate power for the job.
There are a couple of Youtube videos of the trials and tribulations of the build, plus my Own video taken at the bikes inaugural debut at a British Kawasaki Triples Club Rally back in July 2003, since then I it has been displayed at the “Stafford Show” Once and I took it to the Essen show in Germany in the latter part of 2003.The motorcycle is in the Guiness book of records for a motorcycle having the most cylinders, the actual CC is approximately 4,000cc after taking into account the rebore on each cylinder. The motorcycle is rideable . . . . JUST! The power is delivered through a BMW gearbox and Goldwing wheels. It is a FAR from practical bike and is more of a jaw dropping experience and a conversation piece.
At present it is in a private museum in North London England, so would need to be collecting from there, it is road registered and bears the plate : A 48 CYL
It can be shipped Worldwide at the buyers expense.
Payment would be by a mutually agreeable method.
The 7 cylinder, 9 cylinder and KR750 Replica are also for sale, these motorcycles are located in Michigan U.S.A.
