Description
The KZ 700 was a one year only bike. It was a "tariff beater". In 1982, Vaughn Beal's, the then chairman of Harley Davidson, went to Ronald Reagan and begged for help. The Japanese bikes were killing Harley sales and Harley's of that era were horribly made bikes. Reagan and Beal's formulated a plan to charge a big tariff on any bike 750cc and over, and it wasn't peanuts either...about 00 extra on a 00 bike. But, the big four weren't going to be beat! Their answer was to produce 700cc machines that were as fast if not faster and lighter than contemporary 750cc machines. This is one of those bike's that has been updated to a Café race style example! Work that has been done:Modern Kawasaki Forks and Swingarm With KYB Shocks.

This was a professional resto mod and not a hack job many of these older Café bikes you see. Bike runs, shifts, handles, and stops unbelievably well. It needs nothing...just a new owner! Bike has about 1200 miles on her since the restoration (3500 miles total). No leaks...no issues...everything works! One of a kind! Beautiful bike that gets looks and compliments anywhere I go!

Just took the KZ out for a nice 30' ride in the country...really nice comfortable ride! I'll miss this example! Lowered the 'Buy It Now' for a third and final time!!! Way more cash invested in this example! Can't believe the bike is still available!
