The El Camino has an interesting social status that gives it plenty of personality. After all, it's hard not to love a vehicle that's both a comfy sedan and a versatile pickup. This 1981 Chevrolet El Camino delivers this iconic idea while giving you the right features, like an A/C interior, a small block under the hood, and a cool/classic style.
The black paint has a true Johnny Cash style to it that makes this one instantly looks Bad to the bone. Because this has a practical truck bed, there is a durable mat to carry any of the big loads on the weekends. We really like the design of these final generation El Caminos because they incorporate some great classic cruiser elements.
The all-original Burgundy interior is a real treat, starting with the luxurious-looking split-bench vinyl seat and 2-spoke leather-wrapped steering wheel. The black-faced gauges inside the factory instrument panel should look familiar to anyone who drove a rear-wheel-drive GM product in the '80s, and the elegant woodgrain applique found throughout the cabin gives the car-truck a very upscale look. Surprisingly plush matching carpets and smooth door panels add to the well-kept feeling inside, and you'll note that this El Camino is heavily optioned with power locks, factory A/C (though it does need servicing), and a tilt steering column. The original AM/FM/Cassette radio is surprisingly still in place, and it fits neatly into the dash and still works! You'll be pleasantly surprised by how much room there is inside and how bright and airy it feels, despite the close-coupled two-seat body and big bed out back. This is a super-clean Elky that you could easily drive cross-country without feeling like it beat you up.
Under the hood is an interesting small block. The small block V8 was not in production for very long, and so having the numbers-matching unit in this El Camino just adds to this classic's story. It runs well, which helps keep this a classic you'll love driving. That's why it also has great anytime features, like a three-speed automatic transmission, power steering, power brakes, and front discs.
Complete with owner's manual, this is a distinct, comfortable, and all-around desirable classic...especially at this value price. So don't miss this deal, call today!
