    Vehicle Details
This 1961 Mercury M 100 is all there and it is practically all original. It counts with a 6-cylinder 223 engine with 3-speeds on the column. I am a stickler for restoring to original specifications so this truck, like all my previous projects, is as close as possible to original. All changes are easily reversible. Disc brakes were added in the front along with a stabilizer bar. I installed a new gas tank (the stamped and dated original will go with the sale), new clutch, a rebuilt transmission using all NOS original Ford parts and gears, new muffler, new wipers, new tires (including spare) and battery. All rims were refurbished and powder coated when the new tires were mounted. All glass is clear, unfaded, not discolored and with no cracks. The dash is uncut and no after-market accessories installed. All emblems, grill letters and original hub caps are there. The engine is strong and starts right up every time. It needs work to bring it back to its showroom glory, unfortunately health issues prevent me from sticking with this project. Among the smaller issues - needs a valve adjustment and gasket (Not head but valve cover which I have and goes with the sale), needs a new turn signal lever plastic knob and a new turn signal switch (which I have and goes with the sale), two small rust bubbling issues (see pictures), needs powder coating of the bumpers and a small 2-inch tear on the seat which is relatively new (I sat on it with a screwdriver in my back pocket -aarrrggg). I was hoping to address all these things before dealing with the major task of painting. While it looks very good as it is, I was hoping to repaint the truck once all work was completed to make it 100%. If this beauty piques your interest, do a little research and you will find it as interesting as I did. From 1961 to 1963 Ford's F 100 (and this Mercury M 100 counterpart) was redesigned with sleek car lines and lacking a gap between the bed and cab and thus came to be with known as the unibody (Ford called them integrated pickups). While early 60's F 100 are more common, these Mercuries are a rare sight. It is a unique head turner. The milage posted is what shows on the odometer presently, but who knows? The buyer is expected to arrange for transportation but I am more than happy to help in coordinating with shipping. Please check out the vehicle closely, I will assist any way I can. All sales are final and as is. I will consider all reasonable offers.
