I wanted to take a moment and notate all  pictures of this vehicle were  taken August 2021. The vehicle will be sold with correct hubcaps as shown for 1949 Mercury Eight 2 Door
A true non-chopped vehicle restored to original specifications with NOS parts, genuine Mercury parts.  This is a frame off nut and bolt restoration.
Bought from original owner who is 90 + years old. Complete nut and bolt restoration finished over 5 years with NOS parts. A well known collector named MERCURY  BOB is the only person ever to have wrenched on this car. When restored in 1988 everything exceeded factory detail, screws,washers,nuts, hoses,clamps, fabric materials, trim components retain original appearance. Pictures show the detail, frame and driveline finished like exterior body. Painted jet black exterior shows no rust and minimal wear. Fender skirts, spare hubcap, chamber single exhaust with a dual tip exiting rear valance, new suspension with static lowered suspension on front and rear 3”. Grill and all trim installed with correct clips. Doors, hood, trunk ,windows, locks all function good as new. Original glass shows correct markings.
Rebuilt original Flathead V8 mated to factory Overdrive 3 Speed Transmission
Correct 6 volt positive ground cloth covered wire harness
All gauges and lights are perfect and function
Brakes fully rebuilt and coated POR15
Driveline completely rebuild including all new bushings and ujoints
New Firestone Bias 3 1/2 WWW beauty bar tires mounted to gloss red painted steel wheels
Vintage pintripe can be removed with polishing compound if desired
Polished stainless grill to mirror finish  (00 paid in 1988)
All trim removed and polished to above standard sheen
Side  Zoomie pipes can easily be unbolted and are NOT hooked into exhaust ports.
Original 1949 Hubcaps and rings included.
LeBarron Bonney correct interior installed to perfection
Car has original new car smell, never any mildew or must smell.
This vehicle is one of the best non modified Mercs left in the Midwest. The car appearance stops traffic and cruises flawlessly all day at 75 mph.  The car runs cool in 90 degree heat.
A true documented 72,430 mile vehicle which resides in a climate controlled  garage.
