Description
For film collectors and sports fans, here is the 1951 World Series, held in October of that year. Played at both New York's Yankee Stadium and the Polo Grounds, this was world class baseball at it's best, and a big year for Major League Baseball, as the National League celebrated its 75th anniversary, and the American League would celebrate its 50th. The film starts with a review of the Giants' spectacular pennant win, including Bobby Thompson's "shot heard around the world." Then, it's series action. The Giants played hard, but the Yankees would play just a bit harder, taking the series 4-2. See all the great players and plays, as well as the bevy of celebrities that would attend the games. This worn original print gets off to a rough start, with splices and some sprocket issues, but once the action begins, the print smooths out, and all the excitement is there to be enjoyed. The film will arrive on a 1600' reel.Images posted are actual screenshots. No VS.
