Here is a print of the magnificent Eddie Dmytrk filmTHE CAINE MUTINY
Plot:
During World War II, a dilapidated vessel, the USS Caine, gets a new ensign, Willis Keith (Robert Francis), and a new captain, Commander Queeg (Humphrey Bogart). The crew sees Queeg's unconventional behavior as irrational, and communications officer Thomas Keefer (Fred MacMurray) spreads suspicion about
his suitability as captain. After a dire situation during a typhoon forces the executive officer (Van Johnson) to relieve Queeg of his duties, he and Ensign Keith are tried for mutiny.
This is a very good TECHNICOLOR print that I recently bought from another ebayer and screened for an audience. They loved it! It's not perfect as it has some splices and some thin lines, but extremely presentable with vivid color. There are a few areas where the color unexpectedly changes or shifts slightly in Reel 2, probably due to a bad timing job at the lab? The countdown leader on Reel 1 has been replaced, the main title appears intact. On Reel 2, there is wear at the start, but after a minute it appears fine. I have tried to show a couple photos from all three reels. The film is complete with all credits. According to the person who sold this to me, this is a composite print.
Loud & clear optical sound.
Mounted on 3x1600 ft. reels. All credits.
No warping or sagging. No vinegar smell.
